Brewed with British malts (Imperial, Maris Otter Extra Pale, Crystal Light and Wheat malt). British hops (Admiral, Olicana and East Kent Golding) are used in the boil and the beer is dry-hopped in the fermenting vessel with British Opus hops.

In 1877, Queen Victoria was proclaimed Empress of India by Conservative PM Benjamin Disraeli. Queen Victoria and her husband, Albert, frequently passed through Gosport railway station by Royal Train on their way to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
