BEER

Brewed on Armistice Day 2022 with British Maris Otter and German Carafa III malts and flaked oats. American Sabro and Simcoe hops are used at various stages during the boil.  A dark beer with coconut/citrus notes. UNFINED (Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans).

HISTORY

In 1919 the National War Savings Committee, with the agreement and cooperation of the War Office offered MkIV tanks for distribution to towns and cities in England and Wales that had raised a certain threshold of finance per head of population, those that qualified received a MkIV Female tank.  On 27th August 1919 a parade around the town from Forton to Alverstoke School took place and the tank (#2809, "Evangeline") joined the procession to Gosport Park under her own power. There she was put on a concrete bed as a reminder to generations yet to come of what their forebears did towards financing the war.​
